About the Book
The book is dedicated to the Georgian modern artist David Kakabadze (1889-1952). Kakabadze was a leading Georgian avant-garde painter, graphic artist, theatre and film designer, and photographer. During the 1919-1927 he lived and worked in Paris. He was the art theoretist and inventor in the field of cinematography. His collages and biomorphic abstractions, as well as his invention - a glassless stereo film-projecting camera - present him as one of the most progressive and original-thinking artists of the modern era. His works are kept at the Georgian National Museum, Yale University Art Gallery (USA), Berardo Collection Museum (Lisbon), Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Madrid), as well as in private collections.
